Press Release

Thalwil, Switzerland and Athens, Greece – June 18, 2015 – u-blox, a global leader in wireless and positioning modules and chips, officially inaugurated its new office in Athens, Greece. The opening follows the acquisition of the privately-held VC Antcor, a developer of Wi-Fi baseband intellectual property (IP) last year, and demonstrates u‑blox’s commitmentto developing short range wireless technologies applied to the Internet of Things.

Attending the opening ceremony, Herbert Blaser, Senior Director at u-blox, said: "The new Athens office will further strengthen our chip design capabilities for short range wireless communications. It will also expand our ability to deliver robust, end-to-end M2M communication solutions to the market."

"The expansion of the Athens site demonstrates u-blox’s interest in further investing in Greece. It will also offer an attractive and exciting work environment for experienced and talented engineers," says Panos Pagratis, Senior Manager at u-blox Athens.

The new facility is located on the top floor of a new building in the Maroussi region, which is known as a hub for high-tech companies. u-blox plans to double the current team in the coming months by attracting highly qualified software, IC and hardware engineers.
