u-blox launches CDMA wireless module for Japan

Thalwil, Switzerland – May 29, 2013 – Swiss u-blox, a leading provider of wireless and positioning integrated circuits and modules, introduces the compact FW75-D200 CDMA EV-DO data and voice modem. The module is packaged in an easy to integrate, board-to-board form factor. It is ideally suited for machine-to-machine (M2M) applications such as fleet management, automatic meter reading (AMR), people and asset tracking, surveillance and security, vending machines and Point of Sales (PoS) terminals.

The FW75‑D200 enables fast data rates, 3.1 Mb/s downlink and 1.8 Mb/s uplink. It has extremely low power consumption and a rich set of Internet protocols including embedded TCP/IP, UDP/IP, FTP and HTTP. With USB 2.0 and UART interfaces, it also features antenna diversity and backwards compatibility with the 1xRTT standard.
 

The FW75-D200 measures only 35 x 33.9  x 3.3 mm, and supports extended temperature range to support rugged industrial or outdoor applications (-30 to +85 °C).
