LISA-C200 surface mount CDMA module
Thalwil, Switzerland – June 13, 2012 – u-blox (SIX:UBXN), a global leader in positioning and wireless technology for the machine-to-machine (M2M), automotive and consumer markets, today announced that two of its modules are certified for use on the Verizon 3G wireless network. The LISA-C200 surface mount and FW75-C200 connectorized CDMA2000 1xRTT modules can now work with the Verizon Wireless network in the USA to support a wide range of machine-to-machine (M2M) applications.
Both modules are ideally suited for M2M and automotive applications such as: asset tracking, fleet management, automatic meter reading, remote monitoring automation and control, surveillance and security, road pricing, anti-theft systems, point of sale (PoS) terminals, vending, and other M2M applications.
The FW75-C200 and LISA-C200 are fully qualified and certified wireless communication modules enabling cost effective solutions with short time to market. Key features of the devices include dual-band CDMA2000 1xRTT 800 MHz/1900 MHz, 153 kb/s forward/reverse speed, extremely small footprint, and low idle mode current.
A key benefit of the LISA-C200 is footprint compatibility with u-blox’ LISA-U2 UMTS/HSPA module series, and layout compatibility with u-blox’ LEON GSM/GPRS modem series.
"We look forward to teaming with Verizon to serve the next wave of M2M solutions," said Nikolaos Papadopoulos, President of u-blox America. "Our compact, low-power CDMA modules are a perfect offering for the development community, original equipment manufacturers and Verizon’s wide range of M2M solution partners for retail, utility and mobile resource management. Becoming Verizon-approved makes it easy to design M2M solutions based on u-blox modems that work over Verizon’s extensive 3G network."
