Top 10 finalist in Engadget’s Insert Coin; PUSH SuperNova eliminates need to have dedicated gadgets for each sport
Laguna Hills, Calif. and Reston, VA - Nov. 5, 2014 - PUSH Inc., a company developing consumer products for sports enthusiasts to view, capture and share their adventures, designed its PUSH SuperNova rugged multi-sport smart gauge with a u-blox GPS PAM-7Q antenna module. The product is a finalist in Engadget Insert Coin’s annual competition to be held during Engadget Expand at Javits Center in New York City Nov. 7-8, 2014.
Utilizing the u-blox GPS smart antenna module allows PUSH SuperNova to have a 10 times faster update rate compared to typical phone-based applications. Faster update rates create better visibility that is critical for rapid velocity and directional changes, where timing sensitive and accurate paths are key. The product also provides GPS reception when phone-based solutions would be out range from cell towers.
PUSH SuperNova eliminates the need to have dedicated gadgets for each sport. Its rugged sealed case can go anywhere, and its modular design allows customization for a wide variety of sports including biking, motocross, skiing and scuba diving. PUSH SuperNova multi-sport smart gauge provides real-time viewing of data with extensive sensor integration providing tilt, acceleration, velocity, depth and altitude. Sports enthusiasts can share the thrill of their adventure by overlaying the sensor data on GoPro’s HERO® camera for video recordings or uploading it to their favorite websites. The product has an intuitive interface and can be operated easily, even when wearing gloves.
"Core to the PUSH SuperNova product is the u-blox GPS solution with its high performance and fast update rates, even under challenging conditions,” said Todd Berk, CEO of PUSH Inc. “PUSH SuperNova provides highly accurate real-time data to the sports enthusiast including bike speed and distance, motorcycle track time and lean angles, acceleration, skiing verticals and even scuba depth time and surface locations.”
Craig Smith, president of PUSH Inc. commented, “Integrating a GPS solution and the tuning of an external GPS antenna can be expensive and difficult. The u-blox PAM-7Q was a perfect, drop-in solution eliminating costly steps to shorten our development cycle by providing instant, high-performance global positioning without additional components.”
“Smart and innovative startups like PUSH are quickly seeing the value of designing with u-blox wireless and positioning products,” said Nikolaos Papadopoulos, president of u-blox America. “PUSH will be able to quickly bring to market a well-designed, top notch product for the sports enthusiast by leveraging the industry-leading GPS performance and compact design of u-blox solutions.”
