u-blox appoints new President of u-blox Americas

Thalwil, Switzerland – March, 29 2017 – u-blox (SIX:UBXN), a global leader in wireless and positioning modules and chips, today announced the appointment with immediate effect of Suresh Ram as the head of u-blox America.

As President and General Manager, Mr Ram now heads up the America division of u-blox to build on its strong customer base and sales activities in the region.
 
“The Internet of Things presents enormous opportunities for wireless technology. As this emerging and rapidly developing application space matures, my focus will be on further strengthening our market position, investing in our technology, streamlining our operations and building new partnerships,” said Mr Ram.
 
Mr Ram brings a wealth of experience to his new position, having most recently been the Americas head of the RF and Sensors Business Unit within Infineon Technologies, and Senior Director of Global Marketing for Fluke Corporation.
 
Mr Ram will be assisted by Nikolaos Papadopoulos, who has been appointed to the new position of Senior VP of Strategy. Together the management team will continue to develop key markets for u-blox’s range of positioning and wireless products.

The new appointments together strengthen the position of u-blox in the Americas, with a key objective of supporting the long-term needs of its customers and their markets. This will help the company meet its medium-term goal of becoming the leading IoT connectivity company.
