Safe-for-network

SFN (Safe-for-network) is a specific series of tests required by a few operators designed to ensure that neither the device nor the applications included in the device will cause any harm to the shared network at large (e.g., consuming large amounts of RF bandwidth, initiating a high volume of call/data attempts, etc.). These tests include but are not limited to RF parametric testing in the technology supported,  signaling conformance, data retry, IMS registration and retry, etc. When the device has successfully passed SFN testing, the device vendor and their customers are then permitted to have a limited number (as defined by the particular operator) of new devices deployed on the live network.
