u‑blox’ LISA family of 3G modules will integrate Intrinsyc RapidRIL software technology to shorten the design cycle for Android applications
Thalwil, Switzerland and Vancouver, Canada – June 8, 2011 – Swiss‑based u‑blox (SIX:UBXN), a leading provider of wireless and GPS semiconductors, and Canada‑based Intrinsyc Software International, Inc. (TSX: ICS), a leading Android software solutions provider to the global mobile and embedded device community, today announced a software license agreement for RapidRIL™ telephony software. u‑blox will integrate Intrinsyc’s technology into its LISA family of 3G modules for use in wireless devices for consumer, industrial, and automotive applications.

The Radio Interface Layer (RIL) is a layer in an operating system which provides an interface between telephony applications and the modem in devices that needs wireless connectivity such as tablets and smart phones.
