sunrise Chooses u-blox SuperSense® Indoor GPS to Test its Mobile Network Coverage

THALWIL, Switzerland -- April 11, 2006 -- Swiss telecommunications firm sunrise has chosen ANTARIS 4 SuperSense Indoor GPS technology developed by u-blox AG, the leading Swiss GPS receiver provider, to test signal strength across its mobile phone network.

sunrise wishes to ensure that its cellular network users can rely on good signal strength across Switzerland, including in indoor locations such as trams, buses and trains. The tests will measure the quality of coverage and help the operator identify locations where the installation of new base stations would improve the quality of its service.

"Our SuperSense receivers offer an exemplary mix of high sensitivity at ultra-low power consumption levels while delivering reliable and accurate location data. This will ensure that sunrise network coverage testing is always of the highest standard and that locations where coverage should be improved can be pin-pointed with phenomenal precision", said Karsten Tietz, VP Sales EMEA at u-blox AG.
