u-blox Introduces New GPS Module: TIM-LL


u-blox GPS Receiver Module TIM-LL THALWIL, Switzerland -- January 18, 2005 -- u-blox AG today announced the introduction of the new GPS re-ceiver module: TIM-LL. This new programmable OEM GPS receiver module with ANTARIS® technology is an improved and cost-optimized version of the TIM-LP, first introduced by u-blox in 2003.

The integrated Flash EPROM enables permanent storage of user configuration settings, supports firmware up-dates and customized software. The TIM-LL contains a built-in low noise amplifier for use with both passive and active antennas.

The 16-channel ANTARIS® GPS engine provides superior navigation performance in the most challenging metropolitan areas, fast TTFF (34 s cold starts), professional WAAS / EGNOS support, low power consumption (162 mW and less) and the FixNOW™ power-saving mode.

u-blox commits to a high level of quality in the manufacturing of its TIM-LL and other GPS receiver products. With ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 certification, all modules undergo thorough production tests as well as auto-mated optical and X-ray inspections.
