 The EVK-6R is a ready-to-go starter kit that allows fast and easy evaluations of the LEA-6R GPS module with Dead Reckoning. Dead Reckoning (DR) GPS receivers supplement GPS information with additional signals from a gyroscope (turn rate sensor) and an odometer to establish the traveled route during periods of poor GPS reception or GPS outages. The positions are calculated incrementally based upon previous positions, measured changes of heading and distance traveled. Depending on the quality of the available GPS signals, the innovative Enhanced Kalman Filter (EKF) algorithm from u-blox accurately computes the next positions by using an automatically weighted mix of GPS and sensor inputs. The EVK-6R evaluation kit is also suitable for evaluating the Dead Reckoning capabilities of the UBX-G6000 / 0010 chipset.
