Thalwil, Switzerland, November 5, 2009 – u-blox announces that its LEON family of wireless GSM/GPRS modem modules has gone into high-volume production to meet worldwide orders.

After achieving major industry certifications in September, the LEON G-100 and G-200 are now fully qualified for delivery to customers in the consumer, industrial and automotive markets. Complete documentation including Product Summary, Datasheet, and System Integration Manual are available for download.

LEON provides quad-band GSM/GPRS class 10 transceiver functionality in a compact form-factor: only 29.5 x 18.9 x 2.84 mm. They are ideally suited for vehicle telematics (together with u-blox’ GPS receivers), and Telemetry applications such as remote metering.

The modules have extended temperature range: –30 °C to +85 °C.
