The NEO-5D is the world's first 1.8 Volt GPS receiver module. It is a highly cost-effective stand-alone GPS receiver module which offers numerous connectivity options in a miniature 16 x 12.2 x 2.4 mm package. The module's compact architecture and very low power consumption makes it ideal for battery operated mobile devices with very strict cost and space constraints.
The NEO-5D features u-blox' SuperSense^® Indoor GPS technology that offers unmatched tracking performance in harsh signal environments such as parking lots and dense urban environments. The module's architecture further ensures costs are kept at a minimum by using a crystal instead of a TCXO and replacing costly Flash EPROM with an internal Read-Only Memory (ROM) in the GPS baseband chip.
