Why is the receiver configuration lost after a power down?
Question
In spite of the fact that the backup battery is connected to the module, configuration changes (sent by with u-center or a user application) are lost when the supply voltage is switched off. Why?
Answer
The ANTARIS™ GPS Technology is fully configurable with UBX protocol configuration messages (message class UBX-CFG). The configuration of the receiver can be changed during normal operation mode. The configuration data is automatically stored to the current configuration section and becomes immediately active. The settings from the current section will only become permanent settings if they are saved to the permanent configuration section with a "UBX-CFG-CFG->SAVE" command. The permanent settings are copied to the current section after a start-up or whenever a "UBX-CFG-CFG->LOAD" command is received.
Please refer to the the TIM-Lx System Integration Manual / Reference Design, section 'Receiver Configuration', for more information.
